~ Taking A Breath ~

Joe had his rhinoplasty last Wednesday to correct all his nose issues (re-route nasal passages to fix deviated septum, remove polyps, & rebuild cartilage). It has been a long, hard week! The recovery was a little more intense than we had anticipated and we think that is because they had to do more work than they thought once they got in there. I have been sleeping in the living room since he has to sleep upright with all these pillows around him. Also, we could not risk me accidentally rolling over and hitting his face. I have been really restless lately due to pregnancy, so we have had to sleep separately. This will probably go on for a few more days.

Brooke has been the best lil' nurse a Daddy could ask for! She mimics everything I do to take care of Joe. She made sure his water glass was full and that he was comfortable. She will tell him "You go get in bed NOW and don't get up!" and she means business! She keeps asking "You feel better, Daddy? I help you feel better."

In addition to all of this, I have received strict orders from the doc to take it easy. I really wish there was a textbook definition of what this means because I don't know what "take it easy" REALLY means. Besides that, taking it easy is just not in my DNA!, which leaves me with a challenge. Brooke ended up going to E-maw and Papaw's this weekend so that Joe and I could rest. It helped a LOT, but I think I have realized that I may need help when Joe goes back to work in order to abide by this take it easy thing...so not sure how that will work. Brooke brought back flowers for me that she picked. It was so sweet!

I hope that Joe is feeling better and that he heals quickly AND you need to TRY and follow those Dr's orders! :-)
