Fire House is Still In Progress

So we got a refrigerator out to the house this weekend. Thanks to Mom & Dad who got up at the crack of dawn on Saturday & drove all the way from Kaufman to Irving with the trailer to haul it to the lake house for us. Then Joe and Hector spent the weekend sanding the hardwoods in the kitchen and the living area. It seems that nothing can go seamless in this process for us at all! The sander broke & they had to drive it back up to Home Depot (closest one is in Greenville) & get a different one. So this means that the floors did not get finished. Oh well...next time! Anyways, I thought I would post some updated before & after pics so far. We still have a LONG ways to go.

The old bar was removed and a new one was put in. It will be stained the same color as the floor.

The old exterior side & front doors are being replaced with the new one on the right to provide more privacy.

This is the new wall to create the front bedroom.

The front bathroom got a new vanity so far...

...a new shower, new flooring, & a new toilet.

The fire place was torn down over a year ago. The concrete pad underneath had to be busted up, new flooring laid & then the old hardwood from the front bedroom was pulled up to patch the hole since the house is so old that we cannot find the exact same wood at a store or lumber yard.

The back bathroom has received a new vanity, light fixtures, toilet, and wall texturing. Paint and vanity mirror will follow shortly.
